Matt directs portfolio construction and market research, drawing on more than a decade across private and public equity, debt research, and restructuring advisory.
Before joining Gasima Financial, Matt spent 5+ years as a Global Equity Portfolio Manager at Rock Springs Investments, a family office, analyzing and investing in both private (seed to late-stage) and public deals across the energy, technology, cannabis, and healthcare sectors.
Earlier, he managed his own real estate private-equity firm as a joint venture with H.I.G. Capital, and advised Web 1.0 e-commerce and emerging telecom companies on their capital raising and restructuring efforts. His debt experience spans private and public debt research and restructuring advisory at Corsair Partners, Chanin Capital Partners, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette / Credit Suisse, and JPMorgan Chase.
At Gasima Financial, that background shapes how portfolios are built and managed. Matt approaches investing as one part of a larger plan, where the after-tax result matters more than the headline return, coordinating asset location, gain and loss management, and withdrawal strategy so the portfolio and the tax return work together.
